rudra -the destroyer principle

According to Indian Mythology the cosmos is governed by three principles- preservation, creation and destruction. These principles are common to all cultures and beliefs since we have always been an undivided family including the natural life. These principles are eternal and unalterable. The names, languages, cultures, nations, faiths, beliefs, attire, sciences, arts or whatever are artificial and only temporal. There has always been a unbroken continuity since the creation of the universe. The Universe was created for a definite purpose and that purpose will definitely be fulfilled and no power in the Universe or else where can prevent it. Everything else is immaterial.
The Eternal laws which govern the Universe are extremely complex and chaotic and beyond anybody's comprehension. There have been many civilizations since infinity and every subsequent civilization has been more complex and chaotic than the preceeding one. The present civilization which is entering the Rudra age will be one where all the preceeding notions will be destroyed and an entirely new cosmos will come into existence. A Cosmos which will be multi-dimensional.multi-cultural,multi-lingual,multi-racial,multi-ethnic,interlinked and interdependent. Any event anywhere in the Cosmos will immediately have repercussions throughout the Universe. Whether it is humans, plants, animals, birds,,mountains, oceans, rivers or rocks every element of the Cosmos will be interlinked, indivisible and interdependent. The Rudra Principle will govern everything. Every moment will be unique and different from the preceeding one.
The new Cosmos will be of an entirely different texture from the all the preceeding ones.
Only those components or constituents will  survive which are ready to be reborn every moment. Everyone will be subjected to the furnace of destruction. To survive in such a complex and chaotic Cosmos it will be imperative to be ready for destruction and simultaneous creation. all the principles will be so unpredictible that it will be beyond anyone's comprehension.
The governing principles of survival will be interdependence,inter-linking,fusion,universalization,exchange,sharing and cooperation without which the whole cosmos will go to the blazes.
A new language,a new culture, new beliefs and new modes of express will have to emerge which will of course have a link with the past but will be continuously evolving.
The present generation and the future generations will be of an entirely different texture than the preceeding ones and any attempt to apply old notions will be counter-productive.
'The Old is gone and the new is emerging. Ring in the new and phase out the old.

Sri Aurobindo and The Mother's vision of India

Sri Aurobindo was born in Bengal on the 15th of August 1872. The third of four children of Dr.Krishnadhan Ghosh and Swarnalata Ghosh,he studied in Darjeeling till the age of 12 when his father sent him to England for his schooling. He studied in England till 1893 and did his BA(Tripos) and completed his graduation with flying colours. At his father's insistence he appeared for his ICS standing 12th in the Merit list. A precocious student he learnt Greek,Latin,French and Hindi. He was completely ignorant of Indian culture but was absolutely well-versed in Western culture and its traditions. On his return to India in 1893 he joined the services of Maharaja Sayajirao Gaekwad the ruler of Baroda and was appointed Professor of English in the college. While teaching English he taught himself Sanskrit,Gujrati,Marathi and Urdu. His love for his motherland for so tremendous that he left teaching and started a revolutionary movement for liberating his motherland. He travelled all over India inspiring the youth to overthrow the foreign yoke and fight for self-determination and Swaraj.
He was arrested in 1908 after being falsely implicated in Conspiracy case. He was defended by C R Das,another revolutionary lawyer. In his closing speech he told the Magistrate " This man who stands here is no ordinary man and his words will one day spread all over the Globe and change the course of history". After his acquittal Sri Aurobindo left for Pondicherry on a divine Adesh along with a few of his close associates. He realized that without spiritual attainment it will not be possible to uplift the world from its present state of darkness and ignorance. He set about that task single-mindedly.In 1926 he was joined by The Mother,a French lady who too had the same ideas as him. Together they built the Ashram guiding the disciples to their spiritual destiny.
Sri Aurobindo and The Mother had vast expectations of India and the entire world. They envisaged a society free of exploitation and oppression and based on the principles of love,compassion,brotherhood,inter-dependence,inter-linked,cooperation,tolerance,mutual goodwill, international unity and peace. They together by spiritual means achieved the Supramental which is the next stage in the Evolutionary process. They both believed that mankind was not the last step and it would have to evolve into a higher and better species. They both believed that Women would be the vital component in leading humanity to the next evolutionary step. They believed that the division between men and women is artificial and both are complementary-supplementary to each other. Each is a part of the Supreme Power or Divine and fulfillment is prophesized. Their vision of the Universe was so vast and complete and had predicted that one day the Universe would definitely become Divine and fulfill its Divine destiny.
To them India was intended to be the Guru or the teacher to the world due to its past heritage.Because of the power of Tapasya by its ancient seers it had acquired such tremendous power that it could inspire and illuminate the whole universe for times to come.  Their message to the people was simple 'Be true to thine ownself and the rest will follow".
Sri Aurobindo and The Mother together wrote the "Savitri" an epic composed of 12 books which shows the path to divine fulfillment.
Mr.JRD Tata and Mr. Nani Palkhiwala along with many others were deeply inspired by The Mother and always sought counseling from her to build the India of her dreams. Even Indira Gandhi always came to the Mother to seek her blessings in times of distress however later on she too deviated from her teachings and became power-hungry which proved her undoing.
Their view about wealth was that it was intended to be shared between people and promote universal brotherhood and harmony. They believed that easy  money corrupts people and only promotes crime, misery and pettiness in people.
They laid tremendous emphasis on character building, moral values, physical training and spiritual values.
Sri Aurobindo was deeply disturbed by the turn of events at the time of Partition. He firmly predicted that the Partition would definitely go and India would be one united country. The Mother's vision of India was composed of Burma,Pakistan,Bangladesh,Sri Lanka,Bhutan,Nepal,Afghanistan and India since they shared the same cultural heritage.
We have only to be true to Sri Aurobindo and The Mother's teachings and be their worthy children without guile and deceit and our divine fulfillment is ensured.
" All is miracle here and can by miracle change" Savitri

tourism-the sunrise industry

The global paradigms are changing fast and this is the time to be daring and think differently. Tourism will be the fastest growing industry henceforth. India has the potential to be the most preferred tourist destination of the world. It has every diversity imaginable-mountains,beaches,cuisines of all kinds, friendly people, places of pilgrimage of all faiths and beliefs, abundant wildlife and varied cultures and languages.
Now is the time to start dreaming of how to attract international tourists to India. At present our tourism revenues are abysmally low and can be increased exponentially within a short time. We have to start setting up single-point offices in all the leading cities of the world. These offices should be operated by young Indians who can speak in the local dialect. They should provide any information about India to the prospective tourist. It should be possible for any person any where in the world to plan his trip to India siting at home on the internet.
Tourism has tremendous employment possibilities. It creates the need for planes, ships, boats, railways, buses, taxis, hotels, restaurants, bars, discotheques, theatres, tourist guides, interpreters and museums. It also helps to protect the environment and wild life.
Tourism also helps in exchange of cultures between people of different countries and is a great unifying force.
It leads to greater understanding and mutual cooperation and goodwill all round.
Young Indians should also start going overseas in large numbers. They should not only visit  Europe and the US but also S.East Asia, Africa and Latin America. The people there are also very friendly and hospitable.
There are large wild life parks in S.Africa,Kenya and Tanzania.
Indians must give up their present attitudes and start thinking globally. Everybody should make a concerted effort to project India as a tourist friendly destination. Women should feel safe and secure travelling anywhere in India. We should go out of our way to be friendly, polite and helpful to our foreign guests.
The present shortage of rooms can be easily overcome if we start inviting tourists to our homes and provide them with cheap and decent boarding and lodging facilities. This can be done easily via the internet.
Let us all resolve to make global tourism the sun-rise industry!://www.google.co.in/search?hl=en&site=imghp&tbm=isch&sa=1&q=india+tourist+spots+map&oq=india+tourist+spots&

constitution of india

The Constitution of India which came into effect on 26th January 1950 is the pole star which guides us in times of difficulties or crisis. It is a unique document in the sense that it is dynamic, flexible and evolving and  adaptable to any changing situation. It has explicit guidelines to deal with any and every contingency as it may arise.
Under the Constitution the Executive, the Judiciary and the Legislature have their appropriate functions. They are intended to be supplementary and complementary to each other. They are expected to perform in tandem and in a cooperative spirit.
The Preamble which states that We,the People of India having resolved to constitute India as a sovereign, independent, socialist, democratic, secular republic hereby confer upon ourselves this Constitution. The objectives of the Constitution are to secure to its citizens equality of opportunity, freedom of thought, expression, belief and faith, brotherhood between all the people and justice for all.
The Constitution has the best features of both Eastern and Western Constitutions. It imagines an India which is strong,united,self-reliant,prosperous,egalitarian and progressive.
The Supreme Court of India is the custodian of the Constitution and hence its decisions are final and binding on everyone. It is the duty of every citizen to respect and obey the decisions of the Supreme Court. Except for a few aberrations the Supreme Court has sincerely been following the Constitution in letter and spirit. Its Judges are  persons of the highest integrity and beyond reproach.
The Legislature which of late has been functioning in an erratic manner must come to its senses and realize that it owes a duty to the people and nation. All the parties must rise above narrow and parochial interests and start introspection and try to inculcate a spirit of cooperation and consensus when dealing with issues of national importance. The people have arisen and will no longer tolerate the present corrupt and immoral breed of politicians. The need of the hour is to elect persons of integrity and competence.
The Executive which is supposed to implement the will of the people is also failing in performing its assigned tasks. Instead of looking to politicians and ministers for promotions and cushy postings they should perform their duties without fear or favour. They can rest assured that the Judiciary and the people of India will strongly back them in the event of any reprisals from any quarter.
As Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar said '  The Constitution will never fail us if we have men of integrity and competence at all levels'.
Jai Hind Jai Bharat!

sant dnyaneshwar-poet saint

Sant Dnyaneshwar was the founder of the Bhagwat Sampraday-devotees of Lord Vishnu. At the time of his birth India was in the grip of the Brahmin orthodoxy who wanted to exploit the other castes and keep them in eternal subjugation.  At a very young age he lost both his parents and the burden of supporting his younger siblings-Muktabai,Sopandeo and Nivrittinath fell on his young shoulders. Right from his childhood he was extremely spiritual and pious. His faith in God was unshakeable. He was deeply affected by the plight of the poor and the downtrodden people of rural Maharashtra. The Brahmins of Alandi sensed a threat to their supremacy and wanted to outcaste Dnyaneshwar. They caused him tremendous humiliation and torture. He and his younger siblings had to virtually beg from door to door for their survival. However none of this things affected his calm and composure and he continued to preach the message of peace, universal brotherhood and harmony.

rishi bankim-bande matram

Bankim Chandra Chatterji was the Rishi who gave the mantra Bande Matram-a song that inspired millions of youth of India to take up arms against British rule. At that time India was enslaved by the British who wanted to impose an alien culture on India. This they did with the help of Indians educated abroad and appointed them in key positions so that they could permanently enslave India. These people had lost all pride in their own culture or love for their Motherland. their only objective was to amass wealth in the shortest possible time. They had no sympathy or compassion for the local people of India.
Bankim was no ordinary man- a poet, scholar, linguist and above all a patriot. He realized that if India was to once again take its rightful place in the world, a new language would have to be created. The old Bengali was only for academics and had lost its vitality and power. His books Anand Math,Kapalkundala,Devi Chaudhrani and many of his poems were a commentary on the state of affairs in India at that time and an attempt to inspire and motivate the youth of India and to cultivate love for their motherland. He had utter contempt for the priests and mullahs who he felt had become pawns in the hands of the British and wanted to impose an alien culture on India.
Bankim's vision of India which he has painted in Bande Matram is of  Durga who carries trenchant steel in her thousand arms astride a lioness and ruthlessly destroys the Asuras.
Bande Matram continues to inspire millions of Indians even today to aim for the impossible without fear or hesitation.

 Mother, I bow to thee!
Rich with thy hurrying streams,
bright with orchard gleams,
Cool with thy winds of delight,
Dark fields waving Mother of might,
Mother free.

Glory of moonlight dreams,
Over thy branches and lordly streams,
Clad in thy blossoming trees,
Mother, giver of ease
Laughing low and sweet!
Mother I kiss thy feet,
Speaker sweet and low!
Mother, to thee I bow.

Who hath said thou art weak in thy lands,
When the sword flesh out in the seventy million hands
And seventy million voices roar
Thy dreadful name from shore to shore?
With many strengths who art mighty and stored,
To thee I call Mother and Lord!
Though who savest, arise and save!
To her I cry who ever her foe man drove
Back from plain and Sea
And shook herself free.

Thou art wisdom, thou art law,
Thou art heart, our soul, our breath
Though art love divine, the awe
In our hearts that conquers death.
Thine the strength that nerves the arm,
Thine the beauty, thine the charm.
Every image made divine
In our temples is but thine.

Thou art Durga, Lady and Queen,
With her hands that strike and her swords of sheen,
Thou art Lakshmi lotus-throned,
And the Muse a hundred-toned,
Pure and perfect without peer,
Mother lend thine ear,
Rich with thy hurrying streams,
Bright with thy orchard gleams,
Dark of hue O candid-fair.

In thy soul, with jewelled hair
And thy glorious smile divine,
Loveliest of all earthly lands,
Showering wealth from well-stored hands!
Mother, mother mine!
Mother sweet, I bow to thee,
Mother great and free!

bharat nirman

Let us today on the auspicious day Ramazan Id resolve to build a new,vibrant,prosperous,strong,self-reliant and harmonious India! We must make a clean break with all the past traditions and forge new and powerful mediums to achieve our objectives. However we must keep intact our ancient spirit which has guided us for the past several millenium."India of the ages is not deed, she lives in the hearts of our youth and will show the world the true way to peace.prosperity and harmony' Sri Aurobindo.
Our problem is not our vast population, illiteracy, poverty or lack of resources but lack of cohesion and team-work. Once all Indians learn to work unitedly towards a common objective we can achieve anything imaginable. We have to build a society based on liberty, equality, fraternity and justice for all. Unless the poor and the downtrodden get their fair share of the nation's wealth it will be impossible to achieve our dreams.
In the present world Education and knowledge are the key factors for progress and prosperity. Education has to be multi-dimensional and connected to the practical requirements of society.Acquiring knowledge should be fun and not a burden as it is today. We have to focus on teaching our children their mother tongues,English,Mathematics,Science and IT. The 21st century is the century of India and I am confident that India will excel in all fields of human endeavour.
Our greatest strength is our ancient spirituality which has kept India alive even through dark and testing times. We have become weak today because we have forgotten the teachings of Dnyaneshwar,Tukaram,Swami Ramdas samarth,Ramkrishna Paramhans,Vivekananda,Sri Aurobindo,Guru Nanak,Kabir,Meerabai and The Mother. We have to just revive that ancient culture and the Bhagwad Gita and everything will follow.
Religion teaches us to be warriors and in the hands of weaklings it will only create confusion and chaos..Let us resolve to shun everything that weakens us as a nation and dream of vast and great endeavours. "Nothing is imposible because God dwells in man' Sri Aurobindo.
